Scentsy Wax Melts Vs. Other Brand Melts and Warmers
Scentsy Warmers and Wax Melts
Scentsy offers probably the most extensive range of electronic wax warmers and scents on the market. They have over 80 different scents and scent combinations to choose from. The scents range from fresh, clean, fruity, floral, and spicy. Their bars consist of 8 individual cubes in one scentsy bar which costs you 5 dollars or 3 for $15 and 6 for $20. Each cube is suppose to last about 8 hours but depending on the scent, they can last longer. The amount of cubes you use in each burner depends on two things: the size of the warmer and the size of the room. I usually use two cubes per warmer except for plugins where I use one cube. I don't usually change my scents until about three or four days have gone by, but you have to keep in mind that I keep my burners on 24 hours a day. A break down of the amount of cubes you use is as follows: Scentsy plugin warmer uses 1 cube at a time. The medium sized and premium mid size warmers use anywhere from 2-3 cubes. The full size and premium full size warmers use between 2-3 as well. They offer a wide range of warmers, and as the year continues each month introduces a new scent and a new warmer. Their warmers range from 40 dollars (usually warmers with accessories) to $21.50 (usually on sale or on clearance). The plugin range anywhere from $20-$16, the cheaper ones are usually on clearance due to being discontinued. Scentsy motto is to provide a safe alternative to candles. Their warmers do not get hot enough to hurt kids fingers if they touch the wax or the warmers and they could go as far as to taking a bite out of the Scentsy bar and it WILL NOT hurt them. They also offer many combine and save options which do actually save you quite a bit of money, especially if you are just starting out. If you would like to learn more about scentsy products you can email me or go directly to my website. Yankee Candle Warmers, Tarts, and Jar Melts
Yankee Candle is widely known world wide for making exceptionally great smelling scents. They recently got into the wickless world of candles. They offer about 20-30 different scents in their tarts, and 10-15 different scents in their jar melts. The difference between the two of them is that the jar melts offer an easier clean up than the tarts. When you let the wax harden for about two hours you add a little pressure and it pops right out of the warmer. I usually just dump my wax in the trashcan while its melted and then wipe it clean with a paper towel; so for me, paying an extra fifty scents, doesn't make it worth it. Fifty scents may not seem like a lot but when you buy a lot of these it truly adds up. Their wax melts are strong, they last eight hours and then the smell slowly decreases and is gone by about hour ten. So again, for someone who loves to have their house smell wonderful all day and night, it gets really expensive really fast. Their warmers however, are cheaper than then scentsy. They don't offer as much variety but in my opinion, they are well crafted and nice. I personally have a neat pumpkin warmer on the way and will update you on how it performs. They range from 20-30 dollars and yes you can melt scentsy wax in these warmers, however there is no guarantee that the smell will be as strong and the wax will not get too hot. Each warmer uses a different kind of lightbulb and that is what controls the heat. Recently I purchased some of the wax melts to try in my home. They work exactly as said, they stay strong for about eight hours and then they decrease slowly and are gone. The tarts however, I really don't smell as much as I smell the jar melts. The tarts to me smell strong if you are up close to the burner, if you are walking into the room, unless you just started the melting process, you will not smell it. Now that being said I will pay the extra .50 cents for the smell. In my opinion the jar melts are way stronger, and last about double the amount of time than the tarts do. These scents are more for people that turn off their warmers and do not leave them on all day. This again is my personal opinion, everyone has their preferences, this is just how I see it.

Better Homes and Gardens Warmers and Wax Melts
Better homes and garden wax melts and warmers can be found at Walmart. Their wax melts range from $2 - $2.50. One of their bars consists of six cubes. These are very similar to Scentsy products at first glance but once you get into specifics they don't even compare. (In my opinion) The wax takes a very long time to melt, making it impossible to quickly turn the warmers on and it fill your house up in the event of an unexpected guests visit. Usually it takes about a half an hour before the wax melt has melted and five minutes after that until you really starts to smell it. You can remelt the wax, however after the first initial turn on, the scent is not as strong the second time around. I have to use four cubes to get even close to same result as two scentsy cubes. That being said, lets get into their warmers. Again you can melt Scentsy bars in these warmers, but the strength of the scent and the hotness of the wax is not guaranteed. Their warmers range from 10-20 dollars with their plugins being 10 dollars. The mid and full size warmers, in my opinion, are not as nicely crafted as the Scentsy and Yankee Candle warmers, but they do offer a wide range of styles. Their plugins are poorly designed, if you plug them in, its only a matter of time before the size of the piece starts drooping and then the next thing you know, you walk into the room and wax is all over your counters, wall, floor, or carpet. That is a horrible thing to walk in on. I actually had a client tell me that they were scared to use wax melts and warmers after trying the Walmart brand because the warmer got to hot, that the wax bubbled, and then splashed all over her walls and counters. I tried the Walmart brand and found that it didn't bubble up and explode, but I did notice a change in the strength of the scent when I switched from the Walmart warmer to the Scentsy brand warmer.
